Is OKX available in Nigeria? List vs SEC Nigeria

Published · updated

Is OKX available in Nigeria? Short answer

Checked on 31 October 2026. Nigeria is not named on OKX’s own list of Restricted Locations (Risk & Compliance Disclosure, Last Updated 8 July 2026). But that list only says where OKX itself says it may restrict services. We found no official OKX page saying that OKX onboards Nigerian residents, and OKX is not on the SEC Nigeria FinPort list. For that reason this page shows no OKX button and no code for Nigeria.

What OKX’s own Restricted Locations list says

The disclosure says OKX may restrict or prohibit use of all or part of its services from Restricted Locations, “which at this time include Afghanistan, Canada, Cuba, Hong Kong, Iran, India, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, North Korea, Syria, the Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine, certain jurisdictions within the United States of America including all U.S. territories”, and Uzbekistan. Nigeria is not named.

Our own evidence file of 6 October 2026 records that Nigeria is not mentioned in this list, and our readings on 20 and 31 October 2026 agree. An earlier internal screenshot reading (15 October) was noted as possibly listing Nigeria; we could not reproduce that, so we apply the stricter rule: no button. The list can change, so if the page changes we will update this guide.

Nigeria’s rules: SEC Nigeria, ISA 2025 and FinPort

The SEC Nigeria website says Nigeria has assented to the Investments and Securities Bill (ISB) 2025, which repeals the Investments and Securities Act No. 29 of 2007. The SEC FinPort page of registered fintech operators lists Busha and Quidax as digital assets exchanges and says it lists all companies currently operating within the SEC’s fintech incubation ecosystem. OKX is not on it.

Not being on that list does not by itself say what is legal for you. It is a register of one regulator, and we do not give legal advice.

Did OKX leave Nigeria?

We found no official OKX notice about Nigeria, whether about leaving or about returning (checked 31 October 2026). So we write “we could not confirm”, not “OKX left” and not “OKX is back”.

Why we show no OKX button in Nigeria

We show an exchange link only where we can confirm the exchange serves the country. For OKX in Nigeria we cannot, so we show no button and no code. Do not give a false country or someone else’s identity to get around a restriction or a check. We could not verify from an official OKX page whether OKX supports naira or P2P in Nigeria, so we make no claim about it.

FAQ

Is OKX available in Nigeria?

We could not confirm it. Nigeria is not on OKX's list of Restricted Locations (version of 8 July 2026), but a restricted list is not a statement that OKX onboards Nigerian residents, and we found no official OKX page that says so.

Is Nigeria on OKX's restricted list?

Not in the version we read on 31 October 2026 (Last Updated 8 July 2026). A restricted list is not a statement that OKX serves Nigeria, so we show no OKX button for Nigeria.

Did OKX leave Nigeria, or is OKX back in Nigeria?

We could not find an official OKX notice about Nigeria (checked 31 October 2026), so we make no claim either way.

Is OKX registered with SEC Nigeria?

OKX is not on the FinPort list of registered fintech operators as read on 31 October 2026. That list names Busha and Quidax as digital assets exchanges.

Does OKX support naira P2P?

We could not verify this from an official OKX page, so we make no claim about it.
