OKX Europe Limited holds a MiCA CASP authorisation from MFSA (Malta), covering users in the EEA. OKX says the licence of OKX Europe Limited is passported across the EEA and names Germany among the countries whose residents it serves.

We do not make a claim about any German registration or database entry for OKX. This page is not legal advice.

Which OKX site and entity serve Germany

OKX’s EEA risk and compliance disclosure names OKX Europe Limited, incorporated in Malta and licensed by the MFSA. EEA users sign up on OKX’s European site. The terms of the EEA referral programme say that both the person who refers and the person who joins must be under OKX Europe Ltd.

How to register with our referral code

The OKX EEA referral programme is run under OKX Europe Ltd, and its terms say that both the person who refers and the person who joins must be under OKX Europe Ltd. Germany is not on OKX’s list of Restricted Locations, so a German resident signs up on OKX’s European site.

We may receive a commission from OKX if you register through the sign-up button on this page. It does not change our ranking or this page’s facts.

When this page shows a sign-up button, it applies our code, shown in the panel at the top of this page; while our offer check is being renewed the page shows no button. This page states no bonus amount and promises no reward; whatever applies is set by OKX’s current terms. Our rankings are independent of whether an exchange pays us. If you open the sign-up form from the button, check that our code is shown as applied before you continue. See the OKX overview and the OKX referral code page for more.

If the referral code did not apply

Referral relationships are tied to the OKX entity. If our code is not shown, stop and check that you are on OKX’s European site and that you are under OKX Europe Ltd, as the programme terms require. Contact OKX support if the code still does not attach. Do not change your country or details in a form to match a different programme.

What the EEA passport does and does not tell you

A passport means that an authorisation granted in one EEA country can be used to serve customers in other EEA countries. OKX states that the licence of OKX Europe Limited is passported across the EEA and names Germany among the countries whose residents it serves. That is OKX’s own statement, taken from its European regulatory page updated on 4 June 2026, and we read it on 20 October 2026.

What it does not tell you is how a particular product behaves for you. We did not open an account from a German address, so we cannot say which products are enabled for German residents, how long approval takes or whether a given feature is offered. If you need an answer on a specific product, ask OKX support in writing and keep the reply.

Reading OKX’s Restricted Locations list

OKX publishes a list of Restricted Locations on its risk and compliance disclosure page, last updated on 8 July 2026. We read the list on 20 October 2026 and Germany is not on it. We word this carefully: Germany is not on the list. We do not write that OKX is fully available in Germany, because the absence of a country from a list is not a guarantee that every account, product or feature is available. Check the live page before you register, because OKX can change the list at any time.

Before you register: a short checklist

  • Confirm on OKX’s European site that the operating entity is OKX Europe Limited.
  • Read the EEA risk and compliance disclosure, last updated on 5 November 2025.
  • Read the EEA referral programme terms dated 9 September 2026 if you intend to use a referral code.
  • Have an identity document ready. OKX lists a selfie too, and a proof-of-address document if one is requested.
  • Use your own details and your own country. Do not enter a different country to match another programme.

What to expect from the sign-up flow

When this page shows a sign-up button, you open the sign-up form from it and it applies our code; otherwise register on OKX’s European site directly. You then create an account and verify your identity as OKX requires for an individual account. OKX’s help article, updated on 25 August 2026, describes the identity steps; where a proof-of-address document is requested, EEA users need one issued within the last 6 months. Depositing euros by SEPA is described in OKX’s help article, updated on 5 August 2026, which says OKX does not charge a fee for these deposits and that SEPA (Standard) transfers typically take 1-2 business days. Your bank may charge its own fees. We describe these steps from OKX’s published articles and did not run a full registration from Germany for this page.

Identity verification for EEA users

OKX requires identity verification for an individual account. The help article, updated 25 August 2026, describes an identity document, a selfie and, if applicable, a proof-of-address document; where one is requested, EEA users need a document issued within the last 6 months. We did not test verification with a German document, so we make no claim about which documents are accepted or how long approval takes.

Depositing euros by SEPA

OKX states that it does not charge a fee for EUR deposits via SEPA bank transfer, and that SEPA (Standard) transfers typically take 1-2 business days. The article was updated on 5 August 2026. Your own bank may apply its charges, and we did not run a deposit.

Fees

OKX publishes fee schedules for its European entity. We did not verify the current spot fee schedule for this page, so we publish no fee figures; read OKX’s EEA fee page before you trade.

Referral programme rules

OKX’s EEA referral programme terms say that both the person who refers and the person who joins must be under OKX Europe Ltd. Read the terms on OKX’s site before relying on any offer. Do not change your country or details in a form to match a different programme.

Where OKX is not available

OKX lists its Restricted Locations on its risk and compliance disclosure page. If your country appears there, do not try to work around it. The list changes, so read the live page. For a regulated alternative that we also track, see Bybit.

What we have not verified

  • Any welcome-bonus amount for Germany.
  • Derivatives availability for German residents.
  • Whether OKX has any German registration beyond the EEA passport.
  • Tax treatment in Germany, which comes from German law and not from the exchange.

How we checked this page

Every statement is tied to a source and the date we checked it; see the sources table. For our method, read How we verify. For the exchange overview, see the OKX page.
