OKX restricted countries (updated 2026-10-21)
OKX restricted countries: short answer
The OKX Risk and Compliance Disclosure, Last Updated 8 July 2026, names Restricted Locations and a separate list of jurisdictions where OKX “may restrict” services. We read the page on 21 October 2026. We show no OKX button and no code on this page.
| Question | What we found | Checked |
|---|---|---|
| Disclosure version | Last Updated 8 July 2026 | 21 October 2026 |
| Is Nigeria a Restricted Location? | Not named | 21 October 2026 |
| Can the list change? | Yes, “at this time” in the text | 21 October 2026 |
Restricted Locations named in the Disclosure
The Disclosure says OKX may prohibit use of the Services from Restricted Locations, “which at this time include” the places below. The list is quoted from OKX; we add nothing from memory.
| Country or region | As written in the Disclosure | Checked |
|---|---|---|
| Afghanistan | ”Afghanistan” | 21 October 2026 |
| Canada | ”Canada” | 21 October 2026 |
| Cuba | ”Cuba” | 21 October 2026 |
| Hong Kong | ”Hong Kong” | 21 October 2026 |
| Iran | ”Iran” | 21 October 2026 |
| India | ”India” | 21 October 2026 |
| Japan | ”Japan” | 21 October 2026 |
| Malaysia | ”Malaysia” | 21 October 2026 |
| Nepal | ”Nepal” | 21 October 2026 |
| North Korea | ”North Korea” | 21 October 2026 |
| Syria | ”Syria” | 21 October 2026 |
| Ukraine | ”the Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine” | 21 October 2026 |
| United States | ”certain jurisdictions within the United States of America including all U.S. territories” | 21 October 2026 |
| Uzbekistan | ”Uzbekistan” | 21 October 2026 |
We do not state a total, because the United States entry names “certain jurisdictions” without listing them all.
Where OKX limits specific products
The Disclosure adds that OKX “may restrict services in other jurisdictions including but not limited to” the places below. These are limits on products, not a ban on the whole country.
| Jurisdiction | Products named |
|---|---|
| Australia | derivatives-related and cefi-related services |
| Bahamas | retail products |
| Brazil | derivatives-related and P2P services |
| Eritrea | P2P services |
| Russia | fiat payment services |
| South Korea | derivatives-related and P2P services |
| United Kingdom | derivatives-related, cefi-related and P2P services |
United States: territories and states
The Disclosure names all U.S. territories: Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands and the U.S. Virgin Islands. On its US licenses page, OKX INC says it does not provide services to residents of New York, American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands and the U.S. Virgin Islands at this time. We state nothing about other US states. Read both pages for the current state.
EEA: OKX Europe
The Disclosure we read is published by OKX Europe. We make no claim here about OKX Europe authorisation beyond what that page says. For what we confirm for a country in the European Economic Area, see our OKX page.
What a missing country does and does not mean
A country that is not on the list is not a promise of service. The list is OKX’s own contractual statement, it says “at this time”, and OKX can add places. It is not a legal opinion about what is allowed where you live. Nigeria is one example: on our check of 21 October 2026 it is not named in the Disclosure, and we say nothing more than that.
How we check this list
We read the Disclosure on the official OKX page, copy the Restricted Locations and the “may restrict” list, and record the version date and our check date. We do not add a country from memory, from news or from another website’s list. When OKX publishes a new version, we change the page and the dates together. For our method, see How we verify. For a similar page, see KuCoin restricted countries.
How to read the list
The Disclosure is a risk document, not a registry of licences. It says OKX may prohibit use of its Services from Restricted Locations and that the list is correct “at this time”. Three points help when you read it. First, a name on the first list is a Restricted Location, where the Disclosure says OKX may prohibit use of “all or a portion” of its Services. Second, a name on the “may restrict” list is a place where only the named products are limited, so an account there may still exist for other products. Third, the wording “including but not limited to” means the second list is not complete. We copy both lists as written and add nothing.
Which OKX entity the page belongs to
The page we read is the OKX Europe version of the Disclosure, marked Last Updated 8 July 2026. OKX publishes separate pages for other regions, and the US licenses page we used for the New York line belongs to OKX INC. We cite the page for each fact, so you can open it and compare. If your country is covered by a different OKX entity, read that entity’s own terms before you register.
What we did not check
We did not read the full OKX Terms of Service for this update. We did not test sign-up from any country. We did not check local law in any country, and we make no statement about whether crypto services are legal where you live. Nigeria, Canada and India appear in our visitors’ questions, so we answer them from the Disclosure only: Canada and India are named as Restricted Locations, and Nigeria is not named. Anything beyond that needs a source we have not read.
Where our code works
This page shows no code. For where we show a referral code, see our Bybit referral code page and the OKX page.

FAQ
Is OKX available in the US?
Only in part. The Disclosure names "certain jurisdictions within the United States of America", including all U.S. territories. OKX INC says it does not serve residents of New York and four territories. Read both official pages for the current state.
Is OKX available in Canada?
Canada is named among the Restricted Locations in the Disclosure of 8 July 2026.
Is OKX available in India?
India is named among the Restricted Locations in the Disclosure of 8 July 2026.
Is OKX available in Nigeria?
Nigeria is not named in the Restricted Locations or in the "may restrict" list of the Disclosure of 8 July 2026. That is the result of our check on 21 October 2026, not a statement that OKX serves Nigeria.
Which countries does OKX restrict?
The Disclosure names Afghanistan, Canada, Cuba, Hong Kong, Iran, India, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, North Korea, Syria, three regions of Ukraine, certain US jurisdictions including all US territories, and Uzbekistan. It says OKX may restrict services elsewhere.
Does a country missing from the list mean OKX is legal there?
No. The list is OKX's own statement. It is not a legal opinion, and local rules can differ. Check the official page and your local rules before you register.
Can I use OKX from a restricted location?
We do not describe ways around restrictions. Read the OKX Terms of Service for what OKX says about access from a Restricted Location.
