Is Bybit available in Nigeria? Bybit lists and SEC Nigeria (October 2026)
Is Bybit available in Nigeria? Short answer
Checked on 20 October 2026. Nigeria is not on Bybit’s own list of restricted countries, last updated on 16 October 2026. Bybit’s fiat list says Nigerian users can only use NGN for fiat. Bybit does not appear on the SEC Nigeria FinPort list of registered fintech operators. Because of that last point, we show no Bybit button in Nigeria and publish no code for it.
| Question | What we found | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Nigeria on Bybit’s restricted list | Not named (page updated 2026-10-16) | Bybit Help Center |
| Fiat from Nigeria | NGN only | Bybit Help Center, list dated 2026-10-03 |
| Bybit on the SEC Nigeria FinPort list | Not listed (checked 2026-10-20) | SEC Nigeria |
| Our Bybit button in Nigeria | None | Our editorial rule |
“Not on a restricted list” is not the same as “approved in Nigeria”. The first is a statement by Bybit about its own service. The second would be a statement by a Nigerian regulator, and we did not find one.
What Bybit’s own lists say
The Service Restricted Countries page names the United States, Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, North Korea, Cuba, Iran, Uzbekistan, Crimea and Sevastopol, the non-government controlled areas of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, Sudan and Syria. For Dubai it says only VAPO LLC is served. Nigeria is not in that list.
A second Bybit page covers fiat. It lists Nigeria in the General Fiat Service group and adds the note that Nigerian users can only make NGN transactions in fiat. According to Bybit, a Nigerian user is limited to the naira for fiat. The page is dated 3 October 2026. Bybit can change either page at any time, so check the current text before you act.
Nigeria’s rules: SEC Nigeria, the 2025 law and the FinPort list
The SEC Nigeria home page carries an undated banner saying the President has assented to the Investments and Securities Bill (ISB) 2025, which repeals the Investments and Securities Act No. 29 of 2007. We did not review the text of the new law, so we do not quote its sections or say what it requires from a crypto exchange.
The SEC also runs FinPort, its fintech and innovation hub. Its registered fintech operators page lists, under ARIP, two companies as Digital Assets Exchange: Busha Digital Limited and Quidax Technologies Limited. The page describes itself as a list of companies operating within the SEC’s FinTech incubation ecosystem, so we call it the SEC’s FinPort list, not a full register of every crypto business. Bybit, OKX, Binance, Bitget, KuCoin and BingX are not on it.
We did not find an official SEC statement that using an unlisted platform is an offence, and we do not say that it is. We do not call Bybit illegal or banned in Nigeria.
Why we show no Bybit button in Nigeria
We show a sign-up button only where we can support it for the visitor’s country. For Nigeria we found Bybit’s own lists but no SEC record, so the page has no button, no code and no sign-up link. This does not change how we rank exchanges: rankings are independent of monetization.
If Bybit appears on the SEC list, or Nigeria appears on Bybit’s restricted list, we will update this page with the new date. Do not give a false country or use someone else’s identity to get around a restriction or a check.
Naira and P2P: what we could and could not verify
The only fiat fact we verified is Bybit’s note that Nigerian users can only make NGN transactions in fiat. We did not verify Bybit’s P2P offers for USDT and NGN, so we publish no rate, limit, payment method or fee for P2P, and we did not test withdrawals to a Nigerian bank account. For live naira prices, Bybit itself is the only reliable source.
Alternatives and related pages
The FinPort list names Busha and Quidax as Digital Assets Exchange. We mention them as names on that list only: we have no partnership with either, we link to neither, and being on the list is not our recommendation. See the Bybit exchange page, the Bybit referral code page, How we verify and the editorial policy.
How you can check
- Open Bybit’s Service Restricted Countries page, look for Nigeria and note the update stamp.
- Open Bybit’s list of restricted issuing countries for fiat service and read the note next to Nigeria.
- Open the SEC Nigeria FinPort registered fintech operators page and look for the exchange name.
- Compare the dates with the ones above. If a page changed, trust the new text and not this page.
We used no news articles, forums or videos for any fact here. We did not open a Bybit account from Nigeria or test sign-up, identity checks or deposits. Bybit’s lists describe its policy, not what every user in Nigeria will see. Cryptocurrency can lose value quickly, and you can lose money. This is not legal, tax or investment advice.

Can I buy USDT with naira on Bybit?
We could not verify it, so we state no rates, limits or payment methods. The only fiat fact we checked is Bybit's note that Nigerian users can only make NGN transactions in fiat.
Does the Bybit referral code work in Nigeria?
We show no Bybit button or code in Nigeria, so we make no claim about it. Our general Bybit code page is for visitors from countries where we show an offer.
Which digital asset exchanges are on SEC Nigeria's register?
