What OKX’s Risk & Compliance Disclosure says
The disclosure says OKX may restrict or prohibit use of all or part of its services from Restricted Locations, “which at this time include” Afghanistan, Canada, Cuba, Hong Kong, Iran, India, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, North Korea and Syria, together with parts of other places the document names. The wording “at this time” means the list can change, so check the document itself before you rely on it.
Why a Kuala Lumpur office or job ads do not mean OKX serves Malaysian users
Search results for “OKX Malaysia” are full of job ads and careers pages. Hiring people in a city is a different thing from offering a service to users who live in a country. A job ad says nothing about whether an exchange accepts customers there. For that question the useful documents are the exchange’s own terms and the local regulator’s list, which are the two sources on this page. We state nothing here about any OKX company in Malaysia, because we have not verified one.
Who is registered in Malaysia
The Securities Commission Malaysia publishes a list of registered digital asset exchanges. The list as of 20 July 2026 names HATA Digital Sdn Bhd, Luno Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., MX Global Sdn Bhd, SINEGY DAX Sdn Bhd and Kinetic DAX Sdn Bhd. OKX is not on it. This is a list of names with a date, not a recommendation. We found no Securities Commission action against OKX on 20 October 2026 and do not claim one.
In a December 2024 release about a different exchange, the Commission said that operating a digital asset exchange in Malaysia without registration as a recognized market operator is an offence under Section 7(1) of the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007. We quote this as a rule about operators. We do not draw conclusions about individual users.
Why there is no sign-up button here
We show a sign-up link or code only where our evidence covers the country. Malaysia is a Restricted Location in OKX’s own disclosure, so there is no button and no code on this page. We do not describe ways around a restriction, and we do not suggest using a false country or someone else’s identity to pass a check. To see where we do show OKX information, read the OKX review.
