Can I use Bitget in Malaysia? Bitget's terms say no

Published · updated

Can I use Bitget in Malaysia? Short answer

No. Malaysia is on the Prohibited Countries list in Bitget’s Terms of Use, last updated 20 October 2026, and Bitget is not on the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) list of registered digital asset exchanges. This page has no sign-up button and no code. We make no legal ruling; we quote Bitget and the regulator, and facts were read on 20 October 2026.

What Bitget’s Terms of Use say

The Terms of Use define Prohibited Countries as “the following countries and such other locations as designated by Bitget from time to time”, and the list that follows names Malaysia. The wording is open-ended: Bitget can designate other locations at any time, so the Terms themselves are the source to check before any decision. We did not find a source for the date Malaysia was added, so we do not state one.

Bitget’s licences and where Malaysia stands

Bitget’s regulatory page lists AUSTRAC (Australia), a UK entry that describes an “FCA-approved platform partnering with an Authorized Person” under Section 21 of FSMA 2000, a FINMA-recognised self-regulatory organisation (Switzerland), FSCA (South Africa), CNV (Argentina), SAT (Mexico), BCR and CNAD (El Salvador), FSC (Mauritius) and the Tbilisi Free Industrial Zone (Georgia). Malaysia is not on that page, and the page gives no licence numbers. We do not read this as a statement about any country that is not listed.

Who is registered in Malaysia

The SC list of registered digital asset exchanges, “as of 20 July 2026”, names HATA Digital Sdn Bhd, Luno Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., MX Global Sdn Bhd, SINEGY DAX Sdn Bhd and Kinetic DAX Sdn Bhd. Bitget is not on it. We copy the official list without ratings and without links to those exchanges. In an earlier release the SC described operating a digital asset exchange without registration as an offence under Section 7(1) of the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007; that is a statement about the law, not a finding about Bitget.

Why there is no sign-up button here

We show a sign-up link only where our evidence covers the country and the exchange is available there. For Malaysia, Bitget’s own Terms list the country as prohibited, so there is no button and no code. Do not use a false country or someone else’s identity to get around a check or restriction. Terms can change, so read the current text on Bitget’s website before relying on this page.

For where we show the Bitget code, see Bitget referral code. For how we check facts, see How we verify and the editorial policy.
