Key facts at a glance

What KuCoin’s Terms of Use say
Article 17(5) says Restricted Locations “shall include” the United States, Singapore, the mainland of China and Hong Kong, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Ontario and British Columbia of Canada, France, Netherlands, and certain regions of Ukraine. The Terms add that the list may be updated from time to time at the Platform’s sole and absolute discretion, so the list can change. For the full list with its date, see KuCoin restricted countries.
Who is registered in Malaysia
The Securities Commission Malaysia publishes a list of registered digital asset exchanges. The list as of 20 July 2026 names HATA Digital Sdn Bhd, Luno Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., MX Global Sdn Bhd, SINEGY DAX Sdn Bhd and Kinetic DAX Sdn Bhd. KuCoin is not on it. This is a list of names with a date, not a recommendation. We make no claim here about any Securities Commission action regarding KuCoin.
What the Securities Commission rule says
In a media release of 27 December 2024 about another exchange, Bybit, the Securities Commission Malaysia said that operating a digital asset exchange in Malaysia without registration as a Recognized Market Operator is an offence under Section 7(1) of the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007. We quote this as a statement of the rule only. It is not a statement about KuCoin, and this page makes no claim about whether the Securities Commission has or has not taken any action regarding KuCoin.
How to read the two facts together
The two facts come from different sources and answer different questions. The KuCoin Terms of Use tell you where KuCoin itself says it does not serve users. The Securities Commission list tells you which digital asset exchanges it has registered, as of a date. Neither one is our opinion. Each has a check date, and either can change, so check the sources before you decide anything.
Why there is no sign-up button here
We show a sign-up link or code only where our evidence covers the country. Malaysia is a Restricted Location in KuCoin’s own Terms, so there is no button and no code on this page. Do not use a false country or someone else’s identity to get around a check or restriction. To see where we do show the KuCoin code, read the KuCoin referral code page.
