OKX in the Netherlands: OKX Europe, iDEAL and referral code

Published · updated

Yes, through OKX Europe: Dutch residents are served by OKX Europe Limited, which is authorised in Malta and lists the Netherlands among its host states in ESMA’s register. Below: who the entity is, what the sources say about a DNB registration, how iDEAL deposits work, and how our referral code is applied.

Short answer: can you use OKX in the Netherlands?

Yes. OKX Europe Limited is authorised by the MFSA in Malta, and ESMA’s interim register lists the Netherlands among its host states. OKX says it has officially launched in the Netherlands, and the Netherlands is not on OKX’s Restricted Locations list. Our referral code is explained in the section on the referral code below.

Which OKX entity serves the Netherlands

OKX Europe Limited, LEI 54930069NLWEIGLHXU42, is the entity in ESMA’s register. The row names the Malta Financial Services Authority as authority, Malta as home state and 27 January 2025 as the notification date, and the host-state field includes NL.

OKX Europe Limited holds a MiCA CASP authorisation from MFSA (Malta), covering users in the EEA. A licence belongs to one legal entity, so check that the terms you accept name OKX Europe Limited and not another OKX company.

DNB registration at launch and the authorisation today

OKX’s launch article for the Netherlands says OKX holds a crypto service provider registration with De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB). The article shows no publication date, so we treat it as a launch-time statement and not as proof of a current 2026 status. The current basis we can verify is the authorisation above and the ESMA register row. We did not check the AFM or DNB registers directly.

How to sign up with our referral code

Our referral code is applied through the sign-up button on this page, which opens OKX’s European site with our code. This page states no bonus amount and promises no reward: any offer shown on the sign-up screen varies by country and is set by OKX’s current terms, and we did not verify one for the Netherlands. The code gives no discount on trading fees. Our rankings are independent of whether an exchange pays us. The OKX overview and the OKX referral code page explain the other OKX sites.

Deposits in EUR: iDEAL and SEPA

OKX’s help article, updated on 5 August 2026, says iDEAL is only available to fully verified individuals from the Netherlands. It says you can deposit funds via iDEAL free of charge and that the deposited amount will usually be added to your account immediately or within a few minutes. Complete identity verification first, then open the EUR deposit page in your own account to see the methods offered to you, including bank transfer. We did not confirm limits or SEPA conditions from an official page, so we state none.

What the ESMA register row does and does not tell you

The interim register is a list of crypto-asset service providers that notified ESMA. For OKX Europe Limited it shows the home state, the authority, the notification date and the host states where the entity says it will offer services. We read the full file on 21 October 2026, and the Netherlands appears in the host-state field of the OKX Europe Limited row. That is the strongest source we hold for the statement that OKX Europe may serve Dutch residents.

The register does not describe products. It does not say which coins, order types or payment methods are open to Dutch customers, and it does not say whether a specific offer such as a referral programme applies in the Netherlands. For those questions we rely on OKX’s own help and compliance pages, and we mark each one with its date. Where we found no official page, we say so instead of filling the gap.

Before you sign up: a short checklist

  1. Open the OKX site from the sign-up button on this page and confirm that the legal entity named in the terms is OKX Europe Limited.
  2. Check that the country of residence you enter is the Netherlands and that it matches your identity document.
  3. Expect identity verification. OKX says iDEAL is only available to fully verified individuals from the Netherlands, so complete verification before you plan an iDEAL deposit.
  4. Read the fee page and the terms inside your own account before you trade, because we publish no OKX Europe fee figures.
  5. Treat any reward shown on the sign-up screen as an offer set by OKX’s current terms. We did not verify an amount for the Netherlands.

How this page was checked

The regulatory facts come from the ESMA interim register, read in full on 21 October 2026. The iDEAL statements come from OKX’s help article, which is dated 5 August 2026 and was read for us on 21 October 2026; the launch article carries no date, which is why we describe it as undated. The restricted-locations statement comes from OKX’s risk and compliance disclosure, last updated on 8 July 2026, a list that OKX itself describes as including but not limited to the countries it names. Because of that wording, absence from the list is a reason to continue checking, not a guarantee of access.

Fees

We do not publish OKX Europe spot trading fees here. The fee figures we found for OKX Europe were inconsistent between sources, and we have no official page we can cite for the Netherlands. Read the live fee page in your account before you trade.

What we have not verified

  • OKX’s derivatives or futures offer for Dutch users; we found no official page on 21 October 2026.
  • Current DNB or AFM register status.
  • Deposit and withdrawal limits.
  • The size of any sign-up reward for the Netherlands.
  • Dutch tax rules; ask a Dutch tax adviser.

Each will be added when we can attach an official source and a check date.

If the referral code did not apply

  • Check that you registered through our sign-up link and not through another OKX site.
  • Check that the account is an OKX Europe account for your country of residence.
  • Contact OKX support with the sign-up date and the email of the account. Do not send passwords or identity documents in the first message.

We cannot change a referral relationship on your behalf.

Alternatives in the ESMA register

Bybit EU GmbH is also in ESMA’s register, and our evidence file of 20 October 2026 shows the Netherlands among its host states; see our Bybit overview and our Netherlands guide for Bybit. Binance is not in ESMA’s register, and we show no button for it; read our Netherlands guide for Binance for the sourced reasons.

Sources and checked date

Every statement in the facts table has a source and a check date; ESMA was read on 21 October 2026. See How we verify and our editorial policy.
