Bybit in the Netherlands: Bybit EU GmbH, FMA and iDEAL

Published · updated

Dutch residents use Bybit through Bybit EU, the platform run by Bybit EU GmbH in Vienna (“Bybit Nederland” in local searches). Its authorisation comes from Austria’s FMA, and ESMA’s register lists the Netherlands among the countries where it may serve clients. Below: what that means, the Dutch payment method Bybit EU publishes, the fee line we verified, and how our referral code 75062 is applied.

Short answer: Yes, through Bybit EU GmbH

Bybit EU GmbH is authorised by the FMA in Austria. ESMA’s interim register lists the Netherlands among its host states. If you live in the Netherlands, Bybit EU is the Bybit site meant for you. The sign-up section below explains how our code 75062 is applied on Bybit EU.

Which Bybit serves the Netherlands: Bybit EU GmbH

The FMA’s announcement names Bybit EU GmbH, commercial register no. FN 636180i, and says the authorisation was granted by administrative decision dated 28 May 2025. The services listed are custody and administration of crypto-assets for clients, exchange of crypto-assets for funds, exchange of crypto-assets for other crypto-assets, placing of crypto-assets and transfer services for crypto-assets on behalf of clients.

ESMA register: the Netherlands as host state

ESMA’s interim register of crypto-asset service providers lists Bybit EU GmbH with Austria as home state, the FMA as authority, an authorisation date of 28 May 2025 and the Netherlands among the host states; Malta is not among them. We read the register file on 20 October 2026. The host-state list is the register’s own field: it is how an authorisation granted in Austria is shown to reach Dutch clients.

Deposits in EUR: iDEAL and SEPA

Bybit EU’s article on fiat deposits states that the iDEAL service is only supported for users with Netherlands KYC. It adds that the bank account must belong to the same person who completed identity verification, and that deposits from third-party accounts will fail. The article shows an update on 15 July 2026. It also states that SEPA is only supported for users in certain EU countries, so open the fiat deposit page in your account to see which methods you are offered before you transfer money.

Bybit EU states that Bybit EU GmbH charges zero exchange deposit fees for fiat deposits, and that external payment providers may apply separate fees. Your own bank may charge too.

Fees on Bybit EU (VIP 0)

Bybit EU’s Trading Fee Structure article says that from 5 October 2026 at 11:00 UTC the platform moved to a single unified fee structure, with one clear rate across the account. The first VIP 0 row, for a 30-day spot trading volume below EUR 10,000, lists 0.25%. The same article has other rows with other thresholds and rates, so 0.25% is not a rate for every VIP 0 account. We read it on 16 October 2026. We do not state your personal rate: the article points to the fee page in your account for that. Fee schedules change, so read the live page before you trade.

Identity verification (KYC) for EEA users

Bybit EU states that all EEA users must complete Standard Verification to access its products and services. Advanced Verification is optional. Follow the steps shown in your own account; we did not confirm which documents are accepted or how long a review takes. For iDEAL, the verification must be a Netherlands one.

What we have not verified

  • Futures and derivatives for Dutch users. By our check on 20 October 2026 we did not find an official Bybit EU page on this, so we make no claim.
  • Old Bybit.com accounts of Dutch users. We have not verified what applies to them. Check the notices in your own account.
  • The Dutch AFM register. We did not confirm a Bybit EU GmbH row there and rely on ESMA’s register.

Each will be added when we can attach an official source and a check date.

Alternatives in the ESMA register

OKX Europe Limited (MFSA, Malta) is in the same ESMA register; see our OKX page. Binance is not in ESMA’s register, and we show no button for it.

Sources and checked date

Every statement in the facts table has a source and a check date. Two Bybit EU help articles were read by our editor on 20 October 2026 from the official pages; the quotes are stored in our evidence file. See How we verify and our editorial policy.
