Bybit in France: Bybit EU GmbH, AMF white list and code

Published · updated

Residents of France sign up with Bybit through Bybit EU, the platform run by Bybit EU GmbH in Vienna. The AMF, the French regulator, lists it on its white list as a licensed provider under an EU passport, and ESMA’s register lists France among the countries where it may serve clients. Below: what the AMF says, the fees and payment methods Bybit EU publishes, and how our referral code 75062 is applied.

Short answer: is Bybit allowed in France?

Yes, through Bybit EU. The AMF white list entry for Bybit EU GmbH shows the status licensed and the licensing number “N/A - Passport”, and says the company is authorized to provide crypto-asset services in France under the free provision of services (checked 27 October 2026). Residents of France sign up on Bybit EU (bybit.eu). The referral programme there covers EEA residents except Malta. Our code is 75062; Bybit EU says it cannot be added after sign-up. The sign-up button on this page applies that code on Bybit EU, and we state no reward amount.

Is Bybit allowed in France? The AMF white list and the 2024 blacklist warning

The AMF publishes a white list of crypto-asset service providers. The entry for Bybit EU GmbH shows the status “Licensed”, the licensing number “N/A - Passport”, the licensing date 28/05/2025 and Austria as licensing country. Its comment says Bybit EU GmbH has been granted a licence by the Austrian competent authority (FMA) and is authorized to provide crypto-asset services in France under the free provision of services. The AMF adds that the licensing date is the starting date of the intended provision of crypto-asset services in France. The entry lists five services: custody and administration, exchange for funds, exchange for other crypto-assets, placing, and transfer services.

The history matters because older articles still circulate. An AMF press release dated 16 May 2024 said Bybit had been blacklisted by the AMF since 20 May 2022 and was not registered as a DASP. The AMF now shows on that page the notice that the information in the press release is no longer up to date. On 27 October 2026 our search of the AMF blacklists for www.bybit.com returned “No result”. The AMF itself says its lists cannot be exhaustive, so we read that result as a search result, not as a guarantee.

Bybit EU GmbH holds a MiCA CASP authorisation from FMA (Austria), covering users in the EEA. The authorisation comes from Austria’s FMA: Bybit EU GmbH, commercial register no. FN 636180i, was granted a crypto-asset service provider authorisation by administrative decision dated 28 May 2025. The ESMA interim register we read on 20 October 2026 lists Austria as home state, the FMA as authority, 28 May 2025 as authorisation date and FR among the host states. A licence belongs to one legal entity. The same brand name on another domain says nothing about that entity, so check which company the terms name when you register.

Bybit EU or bybit.com for residents of France?

Bybit EU’s referral programme is open to users onboarded to Bybit EU and residing in the EEA, except Malta. Its FAQ adds that referral relationships are site-specific and cross-site referrals are not supported. France is in the EEA and is not Malta, so Bybit EU is the Bybit site this page covers. The global bybit.com site is a different one; this guide does not describe or recommend it for residents of France. Our Bybit overview and the Bybit referral code page explain how the Bybit sites differ.

Who can sign up

Bybit EU says its services are not currently available to residents of Malta (article dated 3 June 2026). Its Service Restricted Countries article says Bybit EU is not available to nationals of a published list of countries and not available to stateless individuals; France is not a restriction by nationality, but your own nationality may be. Check the live list before you start.

How to sign up with referral code 75062

We may receive a commission from Bybit if you register through our link. It does not change our ranking or the facts on this page.

When this page shows a sign-up button, it applies our code, 75062, on Bybit EU. This page states no bonus amount and promises no reward; whatever applies is set by Bybit’s current terms. Bybit EU’s FAQ says that from 19 March 2026 users who register via a referral code or link no longer receive the Welcome Gift from the Rewards Hub concurrently, and only the referral task is available.

  1. Open Bybit EU from our link and check that the address is bybit.eu.
  2. Check that the referral code field shows 75062 before you submit the form.
  3. Complete the registration with your own details and your country of residence.
  4. Complete any identity verification the app asks for.

Our rankings are independent of whether an exchange pays us; see How we verify.

Identity verification

Bybit EU’s help centre says all EEA users must complete Standard Verification and that a proof of address must be dated within the last three months (article updated 25 March 2026, read by our editor on 20 October 2026). Follow the steps shown in your own account. We did not confirm how long a review takes, so this page gives no time estimate.

Funding from France

Bybit EU’s Fiat Deposit FAQ lists France among the regions where Visa, Mastercard, Google Pay and Apple Pay payments are supported. It also says that Bybit EU GmbH charges zero exchange deposit fees for fiat deposits, while external payment service providers may apply separate processing fees or charges depending on the currency and the method. The methods you see depend on your country and on provider availability, so open the fiat deposit page in your account before you transfer money. We did not confirm bank-transfer options for France.

Spot fees on Bybit EU

Bybit EU’s Trading Fee Structure article says that from 5 October 2026 at 11:00 UTC the platform moved to a single unified fee structure. For VIP 0 it lists 0.2500% for 30-day spot trading volume below EUR 100,000, and lower rates in the higher-volume VIP 0 brackets. The article lists higher tiers with lower rates; we publish only VIP 0. Fee schedules change, so read the live page before you trade.

Referral code not applied?

  • Check that you registered on bybit.eu. Referral relationships are site-specific, and cross-site referrals are not supported.
  • Check your country of residence on the account: the programme covers the EEA except Malta.
  • Bybit EU’s FAQ says requests to modify or add a referral code after sign-up will not be accepted. If the field was empty when you registered, the code cannot be added later.
  • Contact Bybit EU support with the sign-up date and the email of the account. Do not send passwords or identity documents in the first message.

We cannot change a referral relationship on your behalf.

Where Bybit is not available

Bybit EU is not available to residents of Malta, to nationals of the countries on its published list, or to stateless individuals. If the exchange tells you during sign-up that it cannot serve you, do not look for ways around it, and do not enter a different country or nationality in the verification; choose another exchange that serves you openly. We show no Binance button for residents of France; Binance is not in the ESMA register as an authorised provider.

Alternative in the EEA

OKX Europe Limited (MFSA, Malta) is in the same ESMA register; see our OKX page.

What we have not verified

  • French tax rules for crypto income; we have no official French tax source yet.
  • Bybit EU’s derivatives offer for France; the AMF entry lists no derivatives service and we found no official Bybit EU page on retail derivatives.
  • What happened to the onboarding of French users on bybit.com in 2025; we have no official source we could read.
  • Bybit Card availability in France.
  • Bank transfers and local payment methods for France.
  • The size of any referral bonus.

Each will be added when we can attach an official source and a check date.

How we keep this page up to date

Every statement in the facts table has a source and a check date. See our editorial policy. This guide is general information, not financial, legal or tax advice. Crypto-assets are volatile, and you can lose the money you put in. Only use money you can afford to lose.
