Is Bitget available in France? Service ended 31 Mar 2026
No sign-up button for France: we show one only where we have verified the Bitget referral offer for that country.
Short answer
No. Bitget says it discontinued all services for residents of France and the French Overseas Territories effective 31 March 2026 (UTC+2), after closing new sign-ups on 16 January 2026. France is also listed in the Prohibited Countries of Bitget’s Terms of Use (last updated 20 October 2026). That is why this page has no sign-up button. Checked 20 October 2026.

Bitget’s notices to French users: the timeline
Bitget’s notice “Important notice regarding service suspension for French users” is dated 16 January 2026. It says Bitget will discontinue all services for residents of France and the French Overseas Territories effective 31 March 2026 (UTC+2), regardless of sign-up date and across all products. The dates in the notice:
- 16 January 2026: no new account sign-ups from French users.
- 16 March 2026: Bitget “will cease accepting new orders from French Users”; “Deposits will no longer be accepted.”
- 31 March 2026: positions opened before 16 March are liquidated and pending orders cancelled.
Bitget’s later update of 13 March 2026, described as an update to that notice, changes the details: Earn and Wealth Management subscriptions begin to be terminated from 25 March 2026 (09:00 CET), liquidation of remaining open positions begins on 31 March 2026 (09:00 CEST), and the process of transferring remaining assets to a licensed crypto-asset service provider begins on 8 April 2026. Where the two texts differ, the update of 13 March 2026 applies.
What happened to assets left on Bitget
We quote only Bitget and give no instructions of our own. Bitget’s notice of 16 January 2026 says: “Any unwithdrawn crypto-assets with a value exceeding 10 USDC will be securely transferred to an authorized third-party platform”. Its later documents change and extend those terms: the update of 13 March 2026 and the French Users Addendum (updated 16 June 2026). Read them and contact Bitget support.
France in Bitget’s Prohibited Countries
Bitget’s Terms of Use, “Last updated: October 20, 2026”, define Prohibited Countries as “the following countries and such other locations as designated by Bitget from time to time”, and the list includes Austria, Belarus, Canada, Cuba, France, Germany and others. We quote the terms and make no legal ruling of our own.
The AMF blacklist: added 7 Nov 2023, removed 9 Jul 2026
In its communiqué of 2 April 2024 the French regulator AMF said of Bitget: “Celle-ci n’est pas autorisée à fournir ses services sur actifs numériques en France.” The platform had been on the AMF crypto-asset blacklist since 7 November 2023. The communiqué now carries the note that www.bitget.com “a été retiré le 09 juillet 2026 de la liste noire crypto-actifs”. The AMF gives no reason in that note. A removal from a blacklist is not an authorisation, and we do not read more into it. The two dates, 2 April 2024 (communiqué) and 9 July 2026 (note), are separate.
Bitget and the EU register: not in ESMA’s file
On 2 July 2026 Bitget published that Bitget EU has applied to the Austrian FMA for MiCAR authorisation, and that the outcome remains subject to the FMA’s assessment. An application is not an authorisation. Bitget has no confirmed MiCA authorisation in the canonical registry (status MICA_PENDING). On 20 October 2026 a search for “bitget” in the ESMA interim register file (CASPS.csv) returned no rows.
Why there is no sign-up button or code
We show a sign-up link only where our evidence covers the country and the exchange serves it. Bitget does not serve French residents, so there is no button, no code and no bonus on this page. If Bitget receives an ESMA register entry or resumes service in France, we will review the page.
Alternatives with an ESMA register row
The ESMA interim register has rows for Bybit EU GmbH (FMA, Austria, 28/05/2025) and OKX Europe Limited (MFSA, Malta, 27/01/2025). See our pages on Bybit and OKX. This is a register fact, not a recommendation.
